The Brighton Soccer League (BSL) is a volunteer-run organization, and the success of each season depends on committed volunteers (our coaches and board members) who want to work to provide a great experience for the players and their families. 

We are always looking to add interested and involved individuals to our board of directors, but we have an immediate need for new Board members due to the recent resignation of a couple board members. 

The BSL board meets monthly from September through May to prepare for the annual summer soccer season.  The Board has many duties that are integral to the success of the soccer season including: player registration, recruiting coaches, ordering uniforms and equipment, preparing team rosters, ensuring all BSL volunteers complete the risk management screening required by US Youth Soccer, maintaining our website and providing timely communication with our members, and working with the Brighton Department of Recreation to maintain the soccer fields and coordinate scheduling of the fields with other recreational sports leagues. 

The time commitment for a board member includes attending the monthly board meetings that usually run for 90 minutes, time spent outside of the board meetings to accomplish any assigned tasks related to specific area for which you are responsible and assisting other board members when possible.  We also ask for a 3-year commitment since it will take time to familiarize yourself with the responsibilities, execute these responsibilities (learning what works and what doesn’t), and help us improve the processes used.
